Projects in Trauma

Explore projects in Trauma!

These projects examine the psychological, emotional, and developmental impact of exposure to distressing or life-threatening events, such as abuse, violence, loss, or natural disasters. These studies explore how trauma affects brain development, behavior, learning, relationships, and physical health across the lifespan, with particular attention to childhood and adolescence. Researchers investigate risk and protective factors, trauma-related disorders (e.g., PTSD), and the mechanisms through which trauma influences outcomes. Many projects also focus on trauma-informed practices and interventions designed to support healing, resilience, and recovery in clinical, educational, and community settings. This research contributes to more compassionate, effective responses to trauma that promote safety, empowerment, and well-being.
